This position will be directly supporting our engineering team and customers. The ideal candidate is expected to meet tight project deadlines, excel under pressure, work well with others, be self-motivated, and be able to manage short and long term projects. Responsibilities includes storage, networking, server administration and tool troubleshooting.
- 5+ years in Linux Systems Administration role in a large environment required.
- Candidate will possess strong knowledge of Linux systems and internals (Ubuntu preferred), with a good understanding of networking and related protocols.
- Ability to program in at least one scripting language in addition to Bash (Python/Perl/PHP/Ruby).
- Experience troubleshooting large scale production problems in a team environment.
- Experience in designing and supporting a multiple NAS/SAN storage environment. Working knowledge of GPFS and NetApp Ontap preferred.
- Familiar and comfortable with the following: Apache, DB (MySQL or Postgres), SNMP, dtrace/strace and network analysis tools.
- Experience in creating software/scripts to automate production systems with one of the following languages: python, perl, ruby, C/C++, etc.
- Linux package management (APT / RPM / DEB).
- Proficiency with source control, continuous integration and testing methods (jenkins, svn, git).
- Experience woking with larger international organizations preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- The role may also be responsible for supporting associated non-production lab and QA environments as necessary.
- You will also be expected to help optimize and fine tune the environment and systems for best "uptime" and performance.
- You will actively interface with management, software developers, network engineers, systems, storage, project management and database administrators on projects and provide second-tier on-call support.
- You should be able to Identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively, sometimes under pressure.
- The role also involves participating in the 24x7 pager rotation of the team as necessary.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork is a must!
- Occasional international travel.

- LPI Certification or International Certification
- Experience with configuration management with tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef and others
- Experience with Wowza, Red5, Nimble Streamer, Progressive Streaming, VoD Streaming, Live Streaming, HLS Streaming
